HTML Title Key to Search Engine Success

Correct keywords in your title tag are essential for successful positioning on search engines, and click through to your site.  Despite their importance many website owners, web developers,  and web application designer make serious mistakes with <title> tags.  Three steps to success are:

1. Include keywords and keyword phrases in a 5 to 8 word expression that makes sense to readers.
2. Make a unique title for each page relevant only to the content on that page
3. Focus on what you offer on that page, not who you are
   

The HTML title appears in the top line of your listing on the search engine results pages (SERP), and on the very top of of your browser, not in the Web page area.   

Each page must have its own uniqe title containing key word phrases relevent to the contents of that page.  If you sell Chicago Style Pizze in Peoria Illinois, please don't have a title that says "Welcome to our Website," "Welcome to Giuseppe's," or even "Guiseppe's, the Best Pizza in Town."

A good title for your home page is "Chicago Pizza Peoria Illinois at Guiseppe's"

If Guiseppe's offers both a meat lovers pizza and a vegetarian pizza, dedicate a whole page to each one.  Write hundreds of words about each one, and have titles like "Vegitarian Pizza Peoria Illinois at Giseppe's," and "Meat Lovers' Pizza Peoria Illinois at Guiseppe's."
